Our Services

Psychotherapy & Counselling

Psychotherapy & Counselling

I offer flexible psychotherapy and counselling, in person in London or online via Zoom, tailored to your needs and circumstances. My approach is integrative, relational, and client-led, informed by psychodynamic, neuroscience, and person-centred perspectives. Creative methods may be used where they feel helpful, depending on your needs and preferences. My practice is guided by the ethical frameworks of the UKCP, BACP, and EAP, and supported by ongoing supervision and professional development.
Creative Arts Psychotherapy

Creative Arts Psychotherapy

Creative Arts Psychotherapy uses artistic and creative media—such as painting, clay, collage, movement, drama, or storytelling—to explore emotions that can be difficult to put into words. Supported by contemporary neuroscience, it can help regulate the nervous system, process challenging experiences, and support emotional integration. No artistic skill is required—only a willingness to explore. This approach can also be practised online, so the creative process can continue even when we are not meeting in person. My work is grounded in arts-based therapeutic approaches. A major part of my Master’s training was in art therapy, although I am not an HCPC-registered art therapist.
Child & Adolescent

Child & Adolescent

I provide psychotherapy for children and adolescents, meeting each young person where they are and working at a pace that feels right for them. The work supports children and young people to process experiences, develop understanding, and grow in ways that help them move forward and flourish.
Sessions are shaped around each child’s needs, preferences, and agency, and may include talking therapy alongside play, sand-tray therapy, or creative arts psychotherapy, depending on age and developmental stage.
Neurodiversity

Neurodiversity

I offer specialist therapeutic support for neurodivergent adults, grounded in a neurodiversity-affirming approach. My work is tailored to the experiences of people with autism, ADHD, and other neurodevelopmental differences, and focuses on understanding rather than changing who you are.
I provide a safe, inclusive, and non-judgemental therapeutic space where I explore identity, lived experience, and the impact of navigating a world that is not always designed with neurodivergent people in mind. Sessions may include developing greater self-understanding, exploring patterns such as masking or burnout, processing trauma, and identifying strategies that support your needs in everyday life. I have particular experience supporting adults and women with ADHD, including those navigating later diagnosis or self-identification.
Supervision

Supervision

I provide collaborative supervision informed by psychodynamic and integrative principles, with an emphasis on the creative process. I offer a reflective space where professionals can explore their practice, receive practical guidance, maintain perspective, and find space to recharge.
I provide supervision for both adult and child therapeutic work and work with trainees as well as qualified practitioners. I am fully accredited with both the BACP and UKCP.
Workshops & Seminars

Workshops & Seminars

I organise and lead workshops and seminars for mental health professionals, parents, teachers, and other interested groups. Sessions are delivered in a safe and inclusive space and may feature guest experts to provide a broader perspective on the topics discussed. For information about upcoming events, please see our announcements at Notes.
sofia remountaki - sofiatherapy

About me

I am Sofia Remountaki (she/her), a Psychotherapist, Clinical Supervisor, and Educator with a passion for supporting people through therapy, supervision, and professional development. My journey in the therapeutic world began in 2010 in London, where I volunteered with children and young adults with a range of needs and neurodevelopmental differences, including autism and ADHD. This inspiring experience led me to pursue further studies and build a second career in Counselling and Psychotherapy—a field I am deeply passionate about.

I offer therapy for adults as well as children and adolescents, tailoring my approach to each person’s needs and preferences. My work can include traditional talk therapy, Creative Arts Psychotherapy using tools such as drawing, writing, or sand-tray, or a combination depending on preference and what feels most helpful. I have also trained extensively in Online Therapy, enabling me to provide inclusive support for those who cannot access face-to-face sessions due to disability, location, or other circumstances.

My approach is pluralistic and holistic, drawing on a range of therapeutic models—including Humanistic, Psychodynamic, CBT, and Neuroscience—to meet each individual’s unique needs. I focus not only on thoughts and feelings, but also on the somatic, embodied aspects of experience.

I am currently deepening my knowledge in trauma and somatic therapy, and I am committed to supporting each person with care, curiosity, and respect.

Experience

I have years of clinical experience in London, and across various settings including schools, the NHS, charities and private practice. I have extensive experience working with neurodivergent people and addressing issues such as anxiety, depression, self-harm, eating disorders, and supporting those with disabilities. Additionally, I have facilitated groups for parents, adolescents and professionals on various subjects to provide support and foster understanding.

In addition to my clinical work, I supervise qualified professionals—including therapists, counsellors, coaches, and social workers—both one-to-one and in group settings within private practice and various organisations in London. I also have extensive experience supporting counselling trainees during their studies and I serve as a visiting lecturer at the University of Roehampton, where I contribute to the training of future Psychotherapy and Counselling professionals.

Frequently Asked Questions

Getting in touch

If you are considering therapy and feel I may be able to help, please do not hesitate to get in touch. You can contact me via the website form, by email at contact@sofiatherapy.gr, or by phone (+44) 07909092022. I am also available on WhatsApp.

What happens next

I aim to respond within two working days of receiving your message to discuss arranging a free 30-minute introductory call online. I look forward to the opportunity to answer your questions.

What to expect in our first meeting

Our first meeting is an opportunity for us to get to know each other. We’ll discuss what brings you to therapy, your goals, how we might work together, availability, fees, and any other questions you may have. If we both feel it’s a good fit, we’ll schedule our first session and begin your therapeutic journey.

If you’re a parent referring your child: The introductory process includes a 30-minute meeting with the parents and a separate 30-minute meeting with the child before we decide whether to move forward with therapy.

Frequency of meetings & importance of consistency

Consistency is key to effective psychotherapy. To build a sense of familiarity and safety, our sessions will ideally take place at the same time, on the same day, in the same location each week. For therapy to be most beneficial, weekly sessions are recommended.

Meeting Options, Accessibility and Cost

Currently, I am offering online sessions only while I am between physical offices. Each session lasts 50 minutes and costs £55. I am committed to equal opportunities and inclusivity. If your circumstances mean that these session options do not fully meet your needs—whether due to timing, frequency, format, or other considerations—please get in touch so we can find a solution that works for both of us. Parents are welcome to have their babies with them during sessions.

Cancellation Policy

For our sessions, I operate a 24-hour cancellation policy. This means that if you cancel with less than 24 hours’ notice, or if you don’t attend a scheduled session, I’ll unfortunately have to charge you the full session fee. Of course, I understand that emergencies can arise, and I’ll always do my best to offer an alternative time slot if possible. However, please do bear in mind the importance of consistency for effective therapy

Ending of sessions

Finally, when we decide that our therapeutic journey is coming to an end – and of course, that decision can come from either you, me, or both of us – as with any relationship, it’s important to have a proper conclusion. To allow for a thoughtful and complete ending to our therapeutic relationship, I ask that we schedule four further sessions after we have agreed to conclude our work together.
